The title characters of this piece had already met in Jan Matejko‘s work. Michael Sendivogius was not only an alchemist and a physician — documents indicate that he was also a secretary to King Sigismund III Vasa. The inkograph was produced on museum-quality cotton paper using pigment printing.
Adam Pękalski also depicted Michael Sendivogius in this work: Sendivogius the Alchemist and King Sigismund Vasa.
