Michael Sendivogius, immortalised on this inkograph, was a very interesting figure. He was a physician, a secretary to King Sigismund III Vasa, and also an alchemist. He is the probable discoverer of oxygen, although he used the name cibus vitae (Latin for food of life). The work is available as a fine art print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 paper.
Sendivogius is also the protagonist of another work by Adam Pękalski entitled Sendivogius the Alchemist and King Sigismund Vasa.
