Marek Okrassa’s work encompasses painting, drawing, illustration, poster, graphic design and screen printing. Over the many years of artistic work, he has developed an individual style, recognized and appreciated on the art market. His paintings show a passion for the grotesque, intertextuality, and a perfect technique.
Okrassa was born in Częstochowa and graduated from the Gdańsk Academy of Fine Arts. He completed his diploma with honours in 1999, at the faculty of painting and graphics in the studio of prof. Maciej Świeszewski and the drawing studio of prof. Maria Targońska. He is the laureate of the Sopot Muse for young artists (2005), the Honorary Distinction of the Franciszka Eibisch Foundation at the National Museum in Warsaw (2004), and the Silver Spur (2000). He was the recipient of the Minister of Culture and Art’s scholarship, as well as of the President of the City of Sopot’s. As an illustrator, he collaborated with many publications, including the Art Crowd Magazine from New York, Newsweek, Twój Styl and many others. He lives and works in Sopot.
